Absolute Amazing Attendance!

This week Miss Lou and Mrs Hammonds took 11 children on an outing to the cinema to reward them for their 100% attendance during the whole school year. The outing consisted of a visit to the Light cinema where we watched ‘The secret life of pets’ as well as a meal at Burger King. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day out which was well deserved, not having a day off all school year is an excellent achievement.

Year 6 SATs week

This week has been very tough for my Year 6 children. I just wanted to say to them how immensely proud I am of them. They have worked tirelessly for the whole week. Their attitudes towards the tests have been so positive even when they found them difficult.
They are a wonderful group of young people who I am very very proud of.
Well done Year 6!

Assessment week

I just want to say how proud I am of the children in year 1 this half term. I have had the pleasure of teaching them this half term and they have been delightful. They have tried so hard with their writing, reading, phonics and maths.
I am so proud of every single one of them.

Glee Choir sing in Walsall

Glee photo 2      Glee photo
Our wonderful Glee Choir were invited to sing at ASDA Living in Walsall last week. This was to help celebrate their 10th anniversary. The mayor of Walsall and the regional manager of ASDA were there enjoying the wonderful singing. The Express & Star were there too.
The children sang beautifully and were a credit to the school. I’m proud of every single one of them!

Welcome back

What a truly amazing start to the new school year. Our children have come back as fired up and ready to work as last year. The teachers and staff at Rivers have got the school looking really great.
I know 2014-15 is going to be a very special year for our school.
